Tips for Staying Organized
i. Create a wedding email
Not only is this an opportunity to create a cute combination of your names, but having a separate email address for all things wedding will make you feel sane. You’ll be able to track your conversations, vendor bookings and more without digging through personal or work communication.
ii. Dedicate a weekly planning session
Select a window of time in your schedule each week where you sit down and work on your wedding. Is it saturday afternoons? Or Sunday evenings? carve out 1-2 hours where you can check your to do list and email your planner. and hey - you (likely) don’t have kids yet so it shouldn’t be too hard to find the time (take it from me!)
iii. Get a visual aid
how are you most productive at work? is it with a multi tab excel or a whiteboard with color-coded post-it notes? Setting up some visuals to help you track the wedding planning goes a long way.
v. Create a shortcut to your wedding checklist
I design a custom checklist of what I accomplish with my clients each month from our start date to the wedding day. Create a shortcut to your wedding checklist so when you’re warming up for the day by checking your email and sipping your coffee, reading through it becomes part of your daily morning routine.
vi. Save your planners cell phone number from day one
Email is excellent for staying organized and having a record of conversations and what was decided, but for those random questions or concerns that pop up randomly in your mind? Shooting a quick text to your planner is the best. I love when I hear from my clients and I can quickly squash any anxiety before it builds!
